Awareness Through Movement® Classes Term 3 For Runners

This 7-week series of lessons will be suitable for experienced runners and beginners, whether you are starting to build up your running program or thinking about it. Experienced runners may gain a sense of improved efficiency, less effort and more coordination with their running. If you have any niggling injuries you will also find these lessons helpful.

Often our attempts to improve our running are ineffective because the measures do not address “how” we are causing our issue and do not change the habit.  We may be performing strength training or particular stretches when we really need to change a movement habit.

In these lessons we will explore various movement sequences. This will guide us to discover our movement habits, some that may be unhelpful. New movements emerge that feel natural, easy and coordinated and will be integrated in to running that feels more efficient and less effortful.

 

Jenny D’Cruz has been teaching Awareness Through Movement classes since 2015 and has also been educating clients on how to move with more ease and efficiency with her work as a Physiotherapist. Jenny has worked in Community Physiotherapy, tertiary hospitals, and private practice across a variety of areas of health for over 25 years. With the Feldenkrais method Jenny finally feels her running is much stronger and easier with no more calf niggles 😊 Please contact Jenny if you have questions, and if you are new to class you will be asked to complete a confidential medical form in order for her to provide best practice.
